Solenoid hedging is made from many individual solenoid mechanisms connected to an aluminium framework. Telescopic legs allow the Solenoid hedge and other electromechanical foliage components to cling to a wide range of surfaces. As the device logs data it closes its solenoid leaves. This process can take several hours (depending on data flow). Eventually all solenoids are held in the ‘closed’ position. At any time — but especially in its fully closed state — the process can be interrupted by an uncharacteristic pattern in the data flow, causing all the solenoid leaves to open dramatically, releasing an explosion of clicks like a dandelion releasing its seeds.
